Caravan and Boat Carports
The van and the boat cost too much to leave out in the weather.
Sun fades the gelcoat and perishes the seals. Salt air gets into trailers and fittings. A tarp only does so much, and paid storage means the rig is never there when a free weekend comes up.
A caravan or boat carport keeps it at home, under cover and ready to hook up. As the Coast’s authorised Stratco and Stratco Outback dealer, with over a decade in business and more than 35 years of industry experience, we design each one around the vehicle it protects.
Every carport is custom-designed for your home, built with genuine Stratco materials, and supplied and installed by our own team. It sits alongside our full range of Stratco carports on the Central Coast.
Height and access
Designed around clearance, turning room and the look of your home.
A caravan or boat carport has to work before it looks good. We start with the height of the rig, the width you need to open doors and walk around, and how you reverse in off the street. From there, the roof style is chosen to suit the clearance you need and the lines of the house. You can attach it to the home or stand it freely, and add bays for the car alongside.
Outback Flat
The clean, low-profile option, set at the height your rig needs. Beams span up to 8.4 metres, which helps keep wide bays clear of posts. Available freestanding or attached.
Outback Gable
A pitched profile that gives extra clearance through the centre for caravans, motorhomes and boats on trailers. The added height also makes for easier access and better airflow.
Outback Curved
A softer, contemporary canopy that sheds water efficiently and works well at the front of the home, where street appeal matters.
Best for: front-of-home carports where the look matters as much as the cover
Attached or Freestanding?
Both work for larger vehicles. Attached carports tie into the existing house line and look more built-in. Freestanding gives you more flexibility on placement, wider access points and easier reverse-in setups, which often suits a caravan or boat trailer. We'll talk through both on the consultation.
Made to measure.
Sized for what you tow, not a standard bay
- Caravan Carport: Higher clearance designed around your van, custom-sized with room to swing the door and walk around.
- Motorhome and Campervan Cover: Height and length set to your vehicle, including whatever is mounted on the roof.
- Boat Carport: Protection for boats, tinnies and jet skis on their trailers. Saves the seat covers from sun damage and the trailer from rust.
- Combined Bays: One structure for the rig and the daily driver, side by side, with the height set for the tallest vehicle.
Built once, built properly
Cover that protects the rig for decades, not seasons.
Sun, rain, salt air and storms take a toll on anything left exposed. A properly designed carport protects the caravan or the boat, holds its own against coastal weather, and adds genuine value to your home. We build the cover. You get back the time, the paintwork and the peace of mind.

Frequently asked
The questions everyone asks.
How much does a caravan or boat carport cost?
Pricing depends on the size and height of the structure, the roof style, and whether it is attached or freestanding. Caravan and boat carports are generally larger and taller than a standard carport, so they cost more than a single-bay cover. Every project starts with a free on-site consultation and a fixed-fee quote, so you know the cost before any work begins. Our carport cost guide covers typical price ranges. Call 0494 571 131 to book in.
How high does a caravan carport need to be?
It depends on your rig. We measure your caravan, motorhome or boat on its trailer at the consultation, including anything on the roof such as air conditioners, aerials and racks, then design the clearance to suit. A gable roof gives extra height through the centre, which often suits taller vans.
Attached or freestanding, what's better for a caravan or boat?
It depends on your block and how you reverse in. Attached carports tie into your home’s roofline and tend to look more built-in. Freestanding carports give you more placement flexibility and wider access, which suits caravans and boat trailers. We’ll talk through both options on the consultation.
Can one carport cover a caravan and a car?
Yes. Stratco carports can be designed with any number of bays, so one structure can cover the van and the daily driver side by side, with the height set for the tallest vehicle.
Do I need council approval for a caravan or boat carport?
It depends on the size, height, placement and design. Some carports meet exempt development criteria under NSW state planning rules, while others require a formal application. Caravan and boat carports are usually taller than a standard carport, so we check your block against the rules first, then handle the approval process for you as part of our service.
What maintenance does it need?
Very little. A periodic clean with mild detergent and water keeps the surfaces looking sharp. After heavy storms, a quick check of fixings is worth doing. That’s about it.
Which areas do you service?
The entire Central Coast, including Tuggerah, Wyong, Gosford, Woy Woy and Bateau Bay, plus parts of Lake Macquarie.
