Stratco Cooldek Insulated Roofing
Cooldek is Stratco's insulated panel system. A polystyrene core is permanently bonded between a profiled steel topside and a smooth coloured steel underside, giving you roof, insulation and a clean ceiling in one product.
What you get:
- Significantly cooler in summer, warmer in winter
- Quieter in heavy rain (the panel absorbs sound)
- Clean ceiling-like finish, no exposed beams or wiring
- Inbuilt rebate to conceal wiring for fans and lights
- Two profiles to choose from: Cooldek Classic (decking shape) or Cooldek CGI (corrugated)
- Three insulation thicknesses for outdoor applications: 50mm, 75mm and 100mm
Stratco Prodek Single-Skin Roofing
Prodek is Stratco's high-performance single-skin steel roofing. A high-rib profile gives it strong spanning capability and excellent water drainage, with a clean modern look at a more accessible price.

Is insulated roofing worth the extra cost?
For most outdoor living spaces, yes. The difference in everyday comfort (especially in summer), the reduction in rain noise and the clean ceiling finish underneath usually justify the upgrade. For carports, garden covers and utility areas, single-skin often makes more sense. We’ll talk through the cost difference and the use case during your consultation.
Can insulated roofing be added to an existing patio?
Often yes, depending on the structure. Cooldek can be retrofitted over many existing patios, though the existing frame needs to be assessed for load-bearing capacity. We’ll check the structure during the on-site visit and let you know what’s possible.
How much quieter is insulated roofing in heavy rain?
Noticeably. The polystyrene core absorbs sound that would otherwise echo through a steel sheet, so heavy rain becomes background noise rather than a conversation-stopper. It’s one of the most common reasons people choose insulated, especially if the space adjoins bedrooms or living areas.
What thicknesses of insulation are available?
For outdoor applications, Cooldek is available in 50mm, 75mm and 100mm thicknesses. Thicker panels offer better thermal performance and can span greater distances unsupported. We’ll recommend the right thickness for your project size and aspect.
Is Stratco roofing suitable for the Central Coast's coastal climate?
Yes. Stratco roofing is made from high-grade corrosion-resistant steel suited to the Central Coast’s salt air, humidity and UV exposure. Material grade and finish recommendations will be made based on how close to the coast the project sits.
What colours are available?
A wide range of Colorbond-equivalent topside colours, plus white or high-gloss colour options for the underside ceiling. We’ll bring samples to your consultation so you can see them against your home.
